23. FUSEON DOORS

WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT FUSEON DOORS?

Fuseon doors break the constraints of traditionally constructed doors and allow unprecedented design freedom with a palette of different timber and metal finishes, precision fitted using state of the art CNC machining technology. The range can be constructed using a wide selection of timber veneers and metallic finishes for different architectural effects.

The standard veneer options are:

More than 50 other timber species can be sourced for particular applications or effects. Similarly, although the standard metallic inserts are brushed silver, other options are possible in copper, gold and bronze. The metallic finishes can also be substituted with a solid colour range of over 20 different hues from every spectrum of the rainbow. Our unique glazing surround frames are made from 304 stainless steel that has been precision fabricated and polished to give a sharp seamless border to any variety of 6.38mm laminated glass chosen. The Fuseon range of doors was designed and is manufactured exclusively in Australia by The Woodworkers Company.

WHAT IS THE DURABILITY OF THE DOOR?

Unlike Woodworkers traditional joinery range of doors which are manufactured from natural timber components, the fuseon range is engineered from laminated timber and veneered to produce a blockboard flush door that is then over-routed for metal inserts.  Engineered flush doors have been used successfully for more than 50 years and comprise the majority of doors sold in Australia by the major manufacturers Hume and Corinthian.  Because flush doors are glued together, their life span may not be as long as traditional jointed doors and they are therefore recommended only for protected external or internal applications. Fuseon doors have a 2 year external warranty and a 5 year internal warranty.  When well maintained and properly finished they will usually give decades of service but this lifespan will reduce according to the level of exposure and thoroughness of the original and subsequent paint coatings. The metallic inserts are warranteed against delamination and comprise a sandwich panel of synthetic polyethylene with a 0.3mm metal facing protected by a polyester coating.  Metal panels can be scratched and dinted from rough handling and care needs to be exercised.

IS THE DESIGN ON BOTH SIDES OF THE DOOR?protectedArea

No. As standard, metallic inserts are only installed on the external face of each door. Should the pattern be required on both sides then additional cost is involved.

WHAT SIZES ARE AVAILABLE?

Fuseon doors can be manufactured in any size up to 2400mm high and 1200mm wide. Standard doors are 40mm thick but 35mm can be fabricated to order. Woodworkers carries Surian Cedar blanks for standard 2040 x 820 x 40, 2340 x 820 x 40, 2040 x 1200 x 40 doors which can be machined to any design on shorter lead times. Fuseon doors are suitable for hinged, pivoted or bifolding applications.

DO THEY COME PRE-FINISHED?

Standard prices do not include paint finishes, although it is usually preferable to have the doors factory sprayed before routing metallic finishes so that crisp edges are achieved. The surcharge to pre-finish joinery covers Sikkens HLSe primer and top coats of Sikkens Filter 7 so that only a single finish coat or touch up is required by your painter on site after installation to remove any surface blemishes or minor scratches. Any special finishes, stains or colours can also be quoted for particular applications on request.

CAN I CUSTOMISE DESIGNS?

Yes. Obviously altering any design will incur a programming change to amend the computer controlled machining paths but almost any design can be altered to achieve a unique result. Corporate logos, for example, can be machined into doors, or different metal or timber veneer combinations can be explored.

The fuseon range of contemporary doors blends the look of timber and metal into a stunning range of new designs. Fuseon doors can be manufactured in variety of timber veneers and metal finishes. Our unique stainless steel glazing surrounds complement a wide choice of glazing options. Fuseon doors have engineered construction and are recommended for internal and protected external locations only.

All metallic faced designs priced with flush fitted metal composite to outside face only. Additional costs apply if inserts required both sides. All glazed door prices allow for clear glazing. Other glass options are at additional cost. All doors are 40 mm thick unless noted otherwise. Stock subject to availability. All prices include GST but are subject to change without notice.
